New Year's reflection

It has been a while since my last blog. I have been super busy with work and the family that I feel I can not sit home and start to use my computer because there is not enough time in the day to enjoy some quiet quality time with self. So here I am, done with work, done with preparing lessons and taking a few minutes to update my Mommy blog. Us, parents need to understand that the time for self is important for you. Important because it is the only time that you can sit and reflect on what is working and what could be better.  How could we become better parents, friends, sisters, daughters, colleagues, and a better person if we do not take that time to self evaluate and reflect on life. I do have to say that life is good right now, family is healthy, friends are good, work is great, husband is fabulous, and life keeps on moving on. I realized that the people that smile the most bring a smile to people's faces. I realized that positive equals positive while negative equals n...

Summer memories. #sun #twins #fun

Summer vacation has been great. At home with the twins, at times will take them out to the pool, beach, park, visit my parents or a quick run to the store or doctors appointments. The best thing is being home with them ,taking them outside to run around. Every morning after breakfast while our house is a mess, we go and water the plants, yes they have become gardeners. They water the small vegetable plants and our flower plants. They have grown up to be busy individuals, there is never a dull moment with them. Always exploring the outdoors, sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't. Always putting things where they don't belong. I guess being a child is about discovering and having fun, being creative and open. Being a mother or a parent is learning how to have more  patience then before, learning how to love more, protect them, care for them and just learn how to let go of things that really don't matter because your children are your number one pri...

Blizzard reflection

It is Blizzard week. Plenty of snow all over New England. I have been home with the babies warm and safe for the past few days. It feels good to be home with them, play with them, feed them, clean after them, love them, cuddle with them and just sit back and observe them. I have been working full time for almost 2 months now.  I have to say that I do enjoy teaching... There are some days tougher than other days. Teaching is hard work but it is rewarding when you watch a student learn or a student smile. I do have to say that I was nervous returning back to the full time work field. Being home with the twins brings me joy, comfort, love and just watching my kiddos smile makes me happy. In spite of that, returning back to work brings back my INDEPENDENCE. This word can mean different things, but as for me it means doing me. It means that I am waking up earlier, getting ready, putting on some make up, getting the twins ready, feeding them, feeding myself, planning for the day, drivi...

Feeling Blessed

Twins or no twins, being a Mother is an amazing experience. Its a blessing, or blessings from God. They are 16 months old and they bring us so much joy. Just their smile or the open arms when they want to hug us, it's the best feeling ever. At times, I sit on the couch and watch them play, maybe fight, share and at times not share their toys but when I see them hug each other, I just hope and wish their bonding and love for each other can last forever. This week I just signed a teaching contract to start working full time. Yes, full time.. Meaning 40 hours a week. Oh my.. Does that mean no more bonding with the twins through out the morning, unless its a weekend, a holiday, or holiday season? Well, on the bright side I can say I was lucky to stay home with them for over a year. After they were six months old, I would work once or twice a week just to get out of the house and make some extra income. However, the down side is that, I am having some separation anxiety. I guess most ...

Going back to work full time while being a mother of twins

Trying to return to work full time is overwhelming.. How do mothers do it all the time? Wake up early, get the kids ready, get yourself ready, eat, try to bundle them up especially when it's freezing cold outside, drop them off to the sitter, then off to work we go. It's like running a marathon.. You never get to stop because if you do then you will never make it to the finish line. Let me start by saying that I have been working and going to school since I have been 15 years old. After high school, was attending college, graduated with my Bachelors in 2005, then traveled to Italy and that motivated me to move to NYC to pursue my acting career/waitress/substitute-teacher experience. You have to earn a living while adding experience to my acting resume. Those 3.5 years living in NYC were an amazing experience that I would never forget. Moved back to RI to be close to my family, friends and now husband, who has been there for me more than 10 years supporting all I do. Worked fu...

My first blog- mom of twin boy and girl

Welcome World, This is my first blog ever. Why did I ever want to become a blogger? Well because I was always researching blogs related to mother of twins, etc. I was motivated by reading similar stories and experiences and I wanted to share my own story, my own experience. Let me start by expressing that I have boy/girl twins. They are turning 16 months tomorrow and its crazy how fast time flies by. They are my motivation, my loves, my everything. Being a parent is not an easy job, it's hard work, but it is an amazing experience and so worth it. The first year was tough for us as parents because they hardly slept, one would wake up and then the other did the same. We would wake up every few hours. Of course they say the first three months are the toughest, well for us was the first 9 to 12 months. They started sleeping after a year old.. Finally some sleep.. Some rest.. Some time to close your eyes and reflect. I enjoy sleeping.. But I guess I no more sleeping for us. Coffee ha...
